Nowkölln - Flea Market

What?
Every second week on Sunday, there is a great flea market at Maybachufer (Kreuzberg), where you can buy second-hand clothing, and other second hand stuff like books, vinyls and jewellery. It's also a great place to have lunch, you can find a lot of different food stands here.

Where?
Maybachufer 31, Kreuzberg

Why should you go there?
It is a lovely flea market, my favourite in Berlin. Especially if you go here early you can find some great treasures. I once bought a silver ring with a beautiful green gemstone here, and my boyfriend found a  I like it better than the well-known Mauerpark flea market in Prenzlauerberg, because it is a bit less touristy and because you can still walk around here without feeling like a little sardine. Edit: I must admit that it is getting busier at the Nowkölln market - but still less busy than the average Mauerpark Sunday!

Why shouldn't you go there?
You have to be a bit of a flea market lover to like this. Sometimes it takes a while before you find something nice - yes, this means digging into the piles of clothing and other stuff! However, if you are (here with someone who is ) not interested in the market, you can just (tell him to) go to the food shops in the middle of the market. Enough choice to keep them or yourself happy for quite a while!
