Wilde Renate - Party in a former apartment!

What?
Wilde Renate is a crazy club in a former WG (German for Wohngemeinschaft, so a former house where people lived together). You enter via the courtyard, where you can chill out and have drinks. The inside part of the club consists of multiple floors: on the ground floor you’ll find the wardrobe, some living-room like small areas and a bar. On the second floor, you’ll find 3 different (small) dance floors. From the inside, the building still looks a lot like an apartment. It has multiple smaller rooms with sofa’s and lazy chairs. For those who have been around in Berlin for a while, it reminds a lot of the legendary club VILLA.

What kind of music can I expect?
Mainly electro, techno and (deep)house. Check the website to see the actual program, because there are some surprisingly great AND weird bookings every now and then.

Why should you go there?
Especially when you are here for the first time, you will be surprised by how the club looks on the inside. It feels like you are in someone’s apartment who threw a party that went a bit out of hand. Like most Berlin clubs, it stays open as long as people are having fun inside. From my own experience I can tell you that that’s regularly till at least 11.00 am ;-)

Why should you not go there?
The music can be a bit loungy and relaxed sometimes, so if you really want to dance all night long you should check the website beforehand to see if the music meets your expectations. Furthermore, Wilde Renate has become a bit touristy, I have the feeling that on a regular night at least 25% of the people is Dutch, and another 25% are tourists from other countries. But hey, nothing wrong with some nice Dutchies!
